During 2016 I set up a webshop in magento 1.9.2. Based on the porto magento theme I could develop most pages using front end html and shortcodes for blocks. The design is set up so most popular products are featured on the home page. Orders are automatically exported in a .csv format to the supplier, who ships the product directly to the customer. Stock amounts are updated daily by cronjob across the site. This was done by getting the updated .csv from the suppliers’ servers with an FTP request.
After the go-live I developed a content strategy and had copywriters feed the blog with relevant articles to post to social channels. These were boosted to relevant target audiences. Ideally landing pages need to be set up to effectively capture user data to start e-mail marketing and retargeting campaigns, but time constraints have been keeping me from completing the step.
